Community Guidelines

The Sandbox is meant to be a place to interact with other professionals while at work; to learn from others, build relationships, and otherwise just ‘hang out’. This is the spirit in which these guidelines have been established. The discussions and way all members and Preschool Portal employees alike, are treated is always to be professional. The general rule of thumb to follow is if the talk would not be appropriate for a traditional workplace, then it is not appropriate here. Forums like the Sandbox are at their best when participants treat each other with respect and courtesy. Please be mindful of this when participating here in the Sandbox.

On occasion, Preschool Portal will move discussions if they belong in a different category. We will also close/remove duplicate discussions and/or replies if they are causing confusion, are mean-spirited, or otherwise inappropriate (see our Do’s/Don’ts below). Our intention is not to censor, but to foster an environment that is easy to use and productive for all those involved.

People come to Preschool Portal to connect with each other within the early childcare industry. We know that people won’t always agree, but we expect everyone on the site to treat one another and the platform with honesty and respect. We’ve put together these general guidelines to help set the tone for discourse on the site—just in case.

Relevance: Please make sure your contributions are appropriate to the Sandbox. For example, posts aren’t the place for rants about political ideologies, a business’s employment practices, extraordinary circumstances, or other matters that don’t address the core of the consumer experience.

• Inappropriate content: Colorful language and imagery are fine, but there’s no place for threats, harassment, lewdness, hate speech, or other displays of bigotry.

• Conflicts of interest: Your contributions to Preschool Portal should be unbiased and objective. For example, you shouldn’t write reviews of your own business or employer, your friends’ or relatives’ business, your peers or competitors in your industry, or businesses in your networking group. Businesses should never ask customers to write reviews.

• Privacy: Don’t publicize people’s private information. For instance, please don’t post close-up photos or videos of other patrons without their permission, and don’t post other people’s full names unless you’re referring to someone who is commonly referred to by their full name.

• Promotional content: Don’t post promotional material unless it’s in connection with a Preschool Portal advertising product and through a Business Account. Let’s keep the site useful for consumers and not overrun with commercial noise from every user.

• Post your own content: Don’t swipe content from other sites, users, or businesses. Write your own copy and only share your own photos and videos. This also means you shouldn’t use chatbots or other AI tools to create reviews.

Rules of Conduct

Violation of these rules may result in the removal of a post, a warning, a suspension from the Sandbox, or suspension from the Preschool Portal site. These rules are not exhaustive and the forum moderators will have full discretion to remove any content they deem inappropriate. You will receive a notification from Preschool Portal if your post is removed or access is suspended.

Don’ts
 

• Use profanity (even when indicated with alternative letters and symbols), racist, threatening, adult, or violent language.

•  Degrade a specific job, profile, child, family or member.

•  Post links or content from a job, profile, or member.

•  Post information about a specific child, family, member or job posting violations (Instead, please review our policies and report the violation by clicking the “Report Violation” link and/or contacting Preschool Portal Customer Support).

•  Quote private communications from another member or Preschool Portal employee.

•  Post inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages (“trolling”)

•  Include contact information, links, or references to other websites with the intent of advertising.

•  Repost deleted threads or repeated posting for the sole purpose of moving threads to the top (‘bumping’).

•  Post consistently negative content (for example, “laundry lists” or “rants”) without recommending or suggesting a potential solution.

•  Post information that encourages Terms of Service and other policy violations.

•  Use the forums to directly seek employment and/or hire teachers.

 

Dos
 

• Give advice freely to your colleagues. 

• Be friendly. Welcome new members. 

• Preschool Portal is a platform for work. Be considerate of all members. 

• Let your personality shine. Witty humor is encouraged. 

• Send your ideas for improvement to Preschool Portal in the Suggestion Box. We can handle constructive criticism.

• Report inappropriate content.

• Build your Sandbox reputation by posting helpful comments.

• Connect with each other and build a vibrant community.
